Important Update Regarding United Healthcare and the Methodist Hospital Physician Organization

UnitedHealthcare is committed to helping people access health care to the fullest extent possible as our country addresses the COVID-19 national emergency. To ensure our members in Houston can continue their relationships with their physicians during this time, we have extended our agreement with Houston Methodist’s physicians through May 31, 2020.

We will be sending letters to our members notifying them that they continue to have network access to all of Methodist’s physicians through May 31.

UnitedHealthcare members who have questions should call the number on their health plan ID card. They can also visit uhc.com/methodist to find more information about our negotiations.

UnitedHealthcare members in need of information about COVID-19 can visit a microsite where they’ll find information about a variety of topics including enhanced coverage of telehealth services, early prescription refills, emotional support resources and FAQs.

On behalf of our customers, members and the thousands of UnitedHealthcare employees who depend on Methodist for health care, we remain committed to continued discussions with the health system with the goal of establishing a long-term relationship that ensures Houston residents have access to quality, affordable care. We will keep you updated on the negotiations as they continue. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact your UnitedHealthcare representative.

If you have any questions or need assistance, call our office at 800-362-2809.
